A rare opportunity for artistic growth, meeting one of the best animators in the industry. The Masterclass offers students and professionals an in-depth look at Victor’s workflow, including LIVE demonstrations and lectures.
Victor is a traditional artist and computer animator. He was hired at Pixar Animation Studios in 2000 after his personal short film “Alien Song” became a popular viral clip. “Monsters, Inc.” was his first feature project at the studio and he have worked on almost every Pixar feature film since then, including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Brave, The Good Dinosaur, Coco and Cars3.
He acted as Supervising Animator on Inside Out, and worked alongside John Lasseter and Rob Gibbs as co-director on a number of the “Cars Toon” short films.
Victor won an Award from the Visual Effects Society for his work on Wall-E.
He also teach animation on his spare time. Taught at AnimationMentor.com for about 7 years and at The Animation Collaborative in Emeryville.
“This is the clip that launched my animation career. I started teaching myself CG character animation back in 1998, and this was the third test I animated with my alien character, “Blit”. I posted it to the CG Char forum for feedback, and the next thing I knew it was going viral (by email; this was before YouTube). Among the thousands of emails I received about it was one from Pixar, asking if I would like to interview with them. The next thing I knew, I was a professional animator. It’s weird how things go!”
